Our wider community
Weed our Street!
Well done to our students out this week weeding the local community with County Cllr. Margaret Pattison and Rev. Linda Macluskie from St. John the Divine Church.
Macmillan Cancercare Fundraising
Our School Council handed over a cheque for £550.98 today to a representative of Macmillan Cancercare. The money was raised by a bag pack at a local supermarket and added to by a donation from the Governing Body. It was also supplemented by a donation from Enterprise students who recently won a cash prize in a local competition.
It's that time of year again! Our students always step up to the mark with the annual shoe box appeal and this year is no different. Our shoe boxes will be collected soon for delivery to eastern Europe. Well done to all concerned, and to Mr. Finney for organising the appeal response.
Our school council, out and about in the locality today, helping the police to monitor the speed of drivers around the vicinity of the school.
Our Year 7 students stepped up to the mark this term, sending Christmas cheer to children in Romania. The photograph shows Ms. Amelia Preece accepting our shoeboxes on behalf of the charity, Samaritan's purse. Thanks to our Sixth Formers for helping to wrap the boxes so beautifully.
Heysham Moss visit
Students recently attended Heysham Moss as part of their project run in conjunction with the Wildlife Trust, which is about raising awareness of the Moss and the risk of fires in the summer months. We are also hoping a new butterfly species will flourish in the area and we will be monitoring this over the coming months.
Keeping our roads safe
Make Morecambe Red
Heysham Moss Wildlife Trust meeting
- a feature on the Heysham Moss website;
- opportunities for radio and television publicity featuring students;
- the best of the audio reports featuring on Radio Lancashire.
We look forward to seeing the results very soon.
